Dane is an experience designer at Adaptive Path in San Francisco, where he thinks and makes and wears a big-ass belt buckle. He earned a master’s degree in interaction design from Indiana University, and gets his point across with colored pencils and big words.

Outside of work, Dane stays busy kiteboarding, snowboarding and hiking. He also enjoys photography, brewing his own beer and inventing the internet. Throughout his journey he’s worked as a wilderness guide, snowboard instructor, camp counselor, windsurfing director, envelope stuffer, test grader, shipping manager, pizza thrower, humor writer, arts reporter, jazz musician and barista.

Dane worked as a professional web designer and developer for over five years, and he was the lone gun behind Brainside Out, a tiny web design shop. He’s also been a web director, marketing director, web support specialist, webmaster, web developer, web designer, and web designer/developer. For his efforts Dane has been paid in beer, fame, coffee, pottery, pirate hats, music, grills and scooters. Oh yes, and money.

Dane knows how to drive a stick shift, paddle a canoe, climb a mountain, back up a boat trailer, make a martini, and sneak into formal invite-only dinners. Dane is a superhero for a new generation.

He loves tea and saunas.
